Top 8 Adult Diapers You Need to Consider Buying for A Loved One in 2019

Urinary incontinence is a real problem faced by adults of all ages. While it is twice as common in women as compared to men, 16% of men above the age of 18 experience an overactive bladder. Unfortunately, most people don’t seek help for the medical problem because they feel ashamed of the sensitivity of the condition. Unlike children, who are supported until they learn to control their bladder, adults are often shunned because of it.

However, if you’re caring for a loved one who has a urine leakage issue, you need to understand that this is something that is no longer in their control. Whether the cause of urine incontinence is dementia or another underlying medical problem, you need to make sure to manage their symptoms.

These best adult diapers can help make the patient less embarrassed about their situation and save you and those around you a lot of hassle. Unfortunately, it can be confusing to pick out one brand of adult diapers because hundreds claim to be the best.

This blog takes out the guesswork and shares with you a list of 8 of the best adult diapers you could buy.

So, without further delay, let’s dive into the topic.

1. Tranquility EliteCare Disposable Briefs

Tranquility needs no introduction as far as adult diapers are concerned. However, while they have a range of products, one of the best ones you can buy are the EliteCare Disposable Briefs pack. Perfect for active members in the day and nighttime, this brief feature a PowerSorb Micro-layer that enhances the diaper’s absorbing capacity, without adding to the bulk. It is thin, dense, and has a non-pulp retention layer that draws the fluid and retains it. Which means that you no longer have to worry about soiled laundry.

The brief also has a cloth-like outer layer with hook closure tabs, that keep the diaper in place and the wearer’s skin nice and clean. Their functionality is further enhanced with the Kufguards, that channel the fluid into the core, making the brief capable of containing a high volume of urine and bowel incontinence.

Finally, the Tranquility EliteCare Disposable Brief also has a wetness indicator that turns from yellow to blue, when a change is required. This reduces both the time and money you spend on unnecessary changes.

2. Attend’s Underwear

Another premium product we have on our list of adult diapers is Attend’s Underwear. Meant for moderate to heavy volumes of incontinence, this product is very popular among those who like to move around. The best adult diaper, which is of pull-up style, can be worn like standard underwear and features tear away sides for hassle-free removal.

A triple-layer moisture locking system of cellulose fibers, super absorbent polymer, and micro-porous layer make this product extra absorbent. Moreover, this specialized feature also means there will be odor control and fewer leakage problems. The underwear also has a cloth-like outer material, which will help with discretion.

However, note that this particular underwear is not ideal for longer periods of time like the nighttime, but you can add booster pads if you want to increase capacity.

3. Wellness Brief Superio Adult Diapers

The Wellness Brief pack is one you’ll find on the market which is especially famous for nighttime incontinence. Designed using NASA’s multi-layered InconTek technology, this product is a life saver for someone who doesn’t wish to change diapers multiple times during the night. It can last up to 8 hours and is similar to the technology that’s used by astronauts in space.

These diapers are more absorbent as compared to other standard diapers, and keep moisture away from the skin and lock it in a separate layer to avoid rashes and other skin problems. While it is ideal for night and allows for an easier changing system, it can also be scheduled to change three times in 24 hours.

The Wellness Brief Superio Adult Diaper is ideal for those who are traveling or have to be on the go for extended periods of time.

4. Molicare Premium

If you’re looking for a highly absorbent best adult diaper that doesn’t make the fluid pile up in one spot and weigh you down, the MoliCare premium brief should be your first option. These briefs aren’t just great for heavy nighttime incontinence, but can also provide good protection during the day. What makes this diaper highly absorbent is its innovative three-layer core that offers quick retention of fluid.

There is no chance of re-wetting with this product, and if you previously had a bad experience with adult diapers that caused rashes and skin irritation, then Molicare Premium will save you. Not only are they super soft and ideal for urinary and fecal incontinence, but are also latex-free.

Manufactured of hypoallergenic materials and the breathable and soft ‘Air Active’ wings, they promote dryness and reduce skin irritation. Finally, because it has been anatomically designed with generous leg openings, you don’t have to worry about fighting to get it on.

5. Prevail Pre-fit

Prevail briefs can be found in a range of different products. Today, we’re going to be talking about the Per-Fit Frontal Tape Briefs. Rated for heavy incontinence, they feature a cloth-like outer layer combined with easy-lock fasteners that can be gripped and held anywhere on the brief. The benefit of these fasteners is that you get a snug fit without feeling wet or sticky.

Pre-Fit’s advanced zoning system and breathable zones make it ideal when you’re trying to avoid accidental leakage and skin irritation. The wetness indicator on the product changes from light to dark blue when in need of change. This reduces the number of unnecessary changes.

Additionally, these tape briefs also have a target acquisition zone that wicks away any liquid away from the skin, so it is kept dry and odor free. If you’re looking to increase the fluid volume of these briefs, you can add a booster pad that will increase capacity anywhere from 4 to 16 ounces.

6. Abena Abri-Form

Another popular brand that has made a name for itself in the adult diaper market is Abena. While many varieties are available from the company, the Abena Abri-Form product is one which you’ll fall in love with if you’re going on a short vacation. Designed for heavy incontinence, these diapers feature a Top Dry system than absorbs leaks quickly and keeps the skin dry and comfortable as a result.

One of the best features of this particular product is the barriers at the edge and rear of the diaper. Both these barriers work together to provide the wearer with optimal leakage protection, even when you’re on the move!

The diaper is also equipped with micro-hooks that can be adjusted as needed and put on or taken off without difficulty. Finally, another reason why you may be interested in buying this product is that they’re latex free and bleached without the use of chlorine, which means that it’s perfect for sensitive skin.

7. Tena Incontinence

Next on our list of the best adult diapers is the New Tena Class Plus Brief which is ideal for moderate urine and bowel incontinence. While it is not recommended for nighttime incontinence without additional pads, it can be ideal for someone who wants to be discreet but doesn’t have a problem with frequent changes.

The New Tena Classic Plus Brief has a hook tab fastening system which allows you to adjust so you have a snug, secure, and comfortable fit. After all, the fit is the key to avoid leakage problems where urine incontinence is concerned, right? Moreover, because the product comes with a wetness indicator, you’ll know when change is needed.

The Tena Classic Plus Diaper also has super absorbent micro beads that are located at the core of the product and which help in reducing odor. They help in wicking away the fluids from the skin and traps them into the core.

8. Seni Super

Last, but certainly not the least on our list of the best adult diapers are the Seni Briefs. Though this is originally a European urine incontinence product, it has now been introduced to the US market. These briefs are considered to be super premium since they provide optimal absorption.

The brief’s outer layer has thousands of tiny ports that allow air to circulate through the diaper and keeps the skin dry and healthy as a result. These briefs are available in 4 to 6 sizes, which means that you’ll get a better fit.

The best adult diaper is one which is dry and comfortable and which makes you feel confident and self-assured when you step out wearing it. No matter which diaper, brief or liner you decide to buy for your loved one, make sure that the product is discreet and absorbent.  Always take into account how the wearer feels about the particular product because, at the end of the day, it is them who has to wear it.

Very good blog post on incontience wear. I found the post very informative in regard to the different types of incontience diapers you can avail of. I also liked the fact the site was not filled with distraction which I think takes away from the post itself. It is not a subject matter that you hear of often for some of the reasons you mentioned I hope in the future that changes.

Hi Joseph I appreciate your comments.  I hope that I can continue to provide quality information to people who are too embarrassed to ask or just do not know.  Thanks again!!!

  2. Netta says:

Thanks for presenting this sensitive subject in a very practical, matter-of-fact way.  You are right that the whole subject of incontinence can be one fraught with embarrassment and even despair for the people involved — the patient and the caregiver.  All the old admonishments about controlling yourself comes back.  (Sigh!)

Your post is a good starting point to open the discussion, I think.

    • Chris says:

Hi Netta thanks for the feedback, that is truly my goal to provide some important information so people can become educated on a topic many people do not want to deal with.  Thanks!

I operate a pharmacy here in the Philippines and one of the goods we have on display are adult diapers. Browsing the list of adult diapers in this article, I can see they are of good brands unlike the ones we are selling here that are mostly low-quality China-made products. What impressed me more is the added feature that’s not available in low-quality adult diapers like for example, in Tranquility Elite Care, there’s a color indicator that tells the nursing person when a change is required. This feature is unknown to consumers here buying from my pharmacy!

    • Chris says:

Hi Gomer thanks for your feedback.  It is really interesting to hear what different parts of the world have access to or what information they get.  I am really glad I could provide some information and hopefully you can start to carry some of these products or get access to them.  Thanks again!

Is good I came across this review and would love to order for this in no distant time. I have a friend who needs an adult diapers and I think the best birthday gift for him now is to give him a very good and absorbent adult diapers. I actually prefer the Attend’s Underwear. It is absorbent and It has a good quality and  worn like underwears. I think it will be more convenient for the wearer. I will have to choose it when purchasing adult diapers soon.

    • Chris says:

Hi Kenechi I am glad this review has been helpful for you.  I hope that you can find something that helps make your friends life a little more manageable.

firstly I need to be frank with you, I’m amazed at your niche and how well you have stood out. Urinary and related problems can be controlled by adult diapers and everyone will love to gift any of their loved ones having any of these problems. I’m quite satisfied by the MOLICARE PREMIUM because of it’s looks and features but the problem seems to be associated with how to present this gift, what’s your advice on it?

    • Chris says:

Hi Salim thank you for your feedback.  That is a really great question, I think it is how you frame the issue to your loved one.  I would let them know this issue is not uncommon for people to experience.  You are doing this because you love them and want to help them find a solution.  Lastly I would let them know you understand they might be embarrassed, or feeling frustration but that you are there for them.

      I hope this helps, thanks!

I will say I never thought I would be thinking about his and really don’t want to, but it is something that is necessary like insurance or making sure you have a will filled out.  This is an article that many would find extremely useful and would be great to share with certain family members!

    • Chris says:

Hi Thomas, I believe this is a topic most people don’t just stumble upon unless they are dealing with the situation themselves or helping someone else.  I am glad that you found it informative, thanks again!

  7. Vesna says:

Very informative I was not even aware there were that many choices out there.  Nice layout of your page with short explanation of each product.

One thing I would consider changing is font of titles like “1. Tranquility EliteCare Disposable Briefs” in my opinion letters are way too big. I would suggest making it smaller to make it visually appealing. for number 2. Attend’s Underwear you might want to check if it’s ok to use that picture since it has price from amazon? If I remember correctly Amazon does not allow us to list prices since they change…….so just look in to it.

    • Chris says:

Hi Vesna thanks so much for your feedback.  I appreciate your opinion, sometimes you need a second pair of eyes to give you a different perspective.  You are right on the Amazon picture with the price I have since changed it and made some other visual changes too.

You are absolutely right there are so many products on the market that I could write a new article each day just on the different adult briefs.

      Thanks again!

Very informative and useful article. I like the set-up of your post, the links are helpful and your pictures look good. The shop related products is a good idea. What made you decide to go with adult diapers? It’s a market that is probably not really tapped into. This is good info for people caring for adults in their home or just adults with some leakage. Great research and detail.

    • Chris says:

Hi Scole thanks for the kind words.  I have some experience in the market and could see a huge need.  I think there is a lot more education to be done and I think I really can make a huge difference for people.

      Thanks again!

  9. Linda says:

Adult diapers are very handy. It can help many special need teenagers, adults and elders. Many people that one may see and assume that they have no need of them may actually need them. Many people who have seizures need them because grandma seizures are so strong that they do tend to pee.

    • Chris says:

Hi Linda you are absolutely right, these products are life saving for many different individuals.  Their lives can be difficult to manage until they find the right product that works for them.

      Thanks for your comments!

  10. Jon says:

I think we all know of family members that are older or just have a difficult time holding it in and may need a recommendation for adult diapers. It is not funny but when people need some extra help it is nice when someone that knows a lot about these products can recommend one. Do you know anyone that needs these?

    • Chris says:

Hi Jon thanks for your comments.  Incontinence is a very touchy subject for most and I hope to bring some awareness to it and make it more open to talk about with family members.  I do know a few people that utilize the products and the more you educate the better off people are.  Thanks again.

I have never bought diaper for an adult before, its mostly for my sister’s kids. The medical conditions can really be terrifying. I can imagine someone traveling for a long distance with that kind of a condition. A diaper is certainly the help they need.

I like the Attend’s Underwear because it wears like pant. I think that one will work better just my opinion anyway. I think it can work when i  want to travel long distance.

  12. Wayne says:

Hello, Chris and thanks for this timely post.

I say “timely” because, even though I do not have these issues… yet, I am turning 70 soon and I think it’s always good to be informed about what is available for seniors with this issue or may encounter as they get older.

I was surprised to read that this problem can affect men as young as 18 or 19.  It’s sad that this has to happen to those who are so young and to be ostracised or bullied because of it. As you said, it’s not their fault.  It’s a condition they were born with and it IS time that the stigma surrounding this issue was taken down and replaced with compassion.

I am so glad that there are options out there, for me and others, if the situation should ever arise. So, thanks again,
